As an adult, I’ve always liked the song “Amazing Grace”. It didn’t have the same effect on me when I was a little kid, but as I’ve grown & walked through so many challenging times in life, the meaning of the song’s lyrics become deeper & more meaningful.
Whenever I hear the song played well on bagpipes, it actually has the power of bringing a tear to my eyes. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard it so many times as someone special has passed from this life, in honor of their service, courage & character.
Of all the times I’ve heard Amazing Grace sang or played, I can honestly say that there has never been such a touching and powerful rendition of the hymn as the one below, performed by the world-renown, multinational male quartet, Il Divo.
