Simply put, there are two kinds of people: Those who make excuses, and those who make it happen. Who do you want to be?
That might sound harsh but it just doesn’t get much clearer and it’s a hard statement to argue with…without making excuses! Think about this through the day.
Don’t be a victim of yourself or your circumstances. We can make excuses for most anything we don’t like in our lives. What good does that do?
If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse. ~Jim Rohn
There are a lot of great quotes & teachings about this. Buddha taught, “The negative and positive aspects of our present life are the product of the deeds we have committed in the past. What we are going to experience in the future – happiness or suffering – is in our own hands.” In addition, he said, “No one saves us by but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
That doesn’t mean we’re alone on life, just that we have to be responsible for our own actions and that we must take action!
No matter what your situation, you are truly in control and have the power to change or improve it, if you really want to. Otherwise, you’ll make excuses, blaming situations and other people. The only way to truly succeed is to stop relying on others to sustain you or be your excuse. As the Nike ads used to say, “Just Do It!”
